Maidsville is a small unincorporated community in Monongalia County, West Virginia. The community is located in the northwestern part of the state, near the Pennsylvania border, and is about 16 miles southwest of the city of Morgantown. Maidsville is named after a local family, the Maids, who once owned much of the land in the area.
Maidsville has a population of around 500 people and is primarily a residential area. There are a few small businesses in the community, including a convenience store and a gas station. The area is surrounded by rural farmland and rolling hills, giving residents easy access to outdoor recreation including hunting and fishing. Residents also have access to the Monongahela River, which offers a variety of recreational opportunities.
Maidsville is located near several major highways, including Interstate 79 and U.S. Route 19, making it easy to travel to other parts of West Virginia and beyond. The community is also located near several colleges and universities, including West Virginia University in nearby Morgantown.
